about us

The Crotchet Factory opened in September 1994, running courses for children as well as offering instrumental lessons for all ages.  Directed by Andy and Maxine Warn, but with the help of other visiting teachers, it aims to develop enthusiasm for music in everyone!

Maxine Warn B.A. (Hons) P.G.C.E. Once a Primary teacher and music co-ordinator herself, Maxine has devoted the past twelve years to developing courses aimed at musically stimulating young children to play, sing, listen and perform. She too is an accomplished musician. She plays piano, keyboard, guitar, recorder and sings and divides her working life between teaching privately, at school, in the classroom and at ‘The Crotchet Factory’ developing music workshops for  babies, toddlers and school age children as well as running group lessons for keyboard.  She also offers training to teachers and adults interested in music for early years.

Andrew Warn M.Mus B.A. (Hons) L.T.C.L. A.L.C.M. is an accomplished musician, both a highly acclaimed performer and an experienced teacher. His experience as a performer ranges from his years as a Rock musician, touring Britain and Germany, to his Classical recitals, both solo and ensemble, involving guitar and lute. His school concerts and workshops have never failed to enthral the audience.  In a refreshingly new way, Andy ensures the children are stimulated. thus promoting their enthusiasm, not only for guitar, but also for music as a whole. He especially enjoys working with children, runs his own teaching studio and directs ensembles and youth orchestras. His most recent study of African, Indian and Indonesian music has brought even further variety, scope and enjoyment to many schools across the country.
